Combat targeting system
About This Mod
Similar to games such as The Witcher 3, it features a soft-locking guidance system during battle.
Note: We are currently investigating an error where the opponent's Hud does not display the current target. It seems to show up when you play with other people. We will publish the fix as soon as possible.
Maud uses a soft rock guidance system similar to games such as The Witcher 3 during combat.
For those not aware, softlock is an automated mechanic by which the camera attempts to focus on the current target, allowing the character to move freely in any direction, but directing attacks and actions to the current target. This mode intelligently selects the current target based on some factors, the current target dynamically changes during battle, or the target can be locked using custom keys instead.
Valheim does not have its own aiming system, it was a design choice, and the player is responsible for controlling the camera and the direction of the attack. It's never bad, and if you're comfortable with the current fighting style, this mode is probably not for you. This mode is designed to make combat less rigid and allow you to focus more on your combat than on precision style.
The current goal is dynamically updated using custom factors.
Character attacks are always directed to the current target.
You can lock it to prevent changing the current target (default: Z key or double tap for controller).
During an attack, you can use directional attack overrides using the direction keys.
The camera focus is dynamic and focuses on certain events (evasion, execution, etc.).) Reacts.)
Camera focus temporarily turns off while running / sprint.
The camera focus is activated only for a certain December.
Hide crosshairs during combat (unless they are equipped with tools).
All factors and weight can be customized to your taste
The entire mode or a particular element (i.e. camera focus) can be turned on/off using the keyboard shortcut.
bepinex must be installed before setting this mode.
go.Save the .dll file to Valheim\BepİnEx\plugins.
To configure this mode, navigate to the Valheim\ BepİnEx \ config folder and edit the values stored in projjm.Cfg Combat Guidance System. There are many configurations, but the most effective ones are targeting weights. These weights determine how much a particular factor affects the goal selection process.
There are currently 6 factors:
Opponent's distance from player
Opponent's angle of view from camera
Opponent's Angular Distance from Player
Angular distance facing forward to the enemy from the local player (enemy facing the player)
Was the enemy recently attacked by the player
Was the enemy wounded
If you find that targeting is a bit out of line with the style of play, I suggest you try these values.
This mode is still in its very early stages, and I would appreciate any feedback you may have. If you encounter an error, please report it every time I can fix it in the next update. Also, if you find a configuration that works really well for you, I suggest you share it with others.
As for mode compatibility, I have not tested many modes except those that I use regularly. If you find a discrepancy, depending on the difficulty, I will try to bring it into line. Thank you
