About This Mod

Fixed the absence of fragmentation/honking sound effects during critical hits from laser/plasma weapons and introduced a new SFX setting.

EVE > Audiovisual improvements

Overview of features.

This mode makes the following changes to EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements v1.19 EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp by weijiesen:

Added sound effects for critical kills using energy weapons, which were not available in FNV EVE since version 1.11 in 2011.

Fixed minor bug in EVE critical killing script. When killing the NPC, the sound effects of the armor did not work.

Configured a script to distinguish between laser and plasma critical murders (perhaps EVE planned more universal sound SFX).

Easily adjust additional sound effects, both existing and user-selected, using drag-and-drop.

Description.

EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements for New Vegas contains beautiful critical killing animations for laser and plasma weapons, but it does not have vanilla disintegration sound effects or humming that should be reproduced when critically killing an enemy! That surprised me a lot. While the EVE animations themselves certainly look polished, we felt that the complete lack of soundtrack worsened the overall impression of the game.

In most of the critical murder scenarios in EVE, both men and women would make veritable death cries, but when it came to laser and plasma weapons, only four of the 13 options were accompanied by real-world sound effects. However, even these sound effects were not designed to replace the non-existent SFX fragmentation/goofification, but as an additional effect caused by the explosion of scenarios occurring during critical killing. All other critical murder scenarios have no soundtrack at all.

So how did we solve this problem? The mod, available as a .esp patch, solves the above-mentioned problem with sound by introducing several new sound-related inputs into the EVE recording structure and placing these inputs into the corresponding stage/IF 68 operators of existing EVE critical murder scenarios. Changes to critkill scripts are simple overrides and do not cause any conflicts with the basic ESPs provided by EVE.

Install after the ESP file in the order in which EVE is installed.

The above sound files (preferably WAV, but OGG and MP3 should also work) apply special fragmentation and goofification sound effects respectively; FNV randomly alternates available sound files when a corresponding critical killing occurs in the game.

Changelog.

v1.1.0 Improved SFX goufification (vanilla version did not match the visual design of EVE).
