About This Mod

This is a list of mods that I have compiled for my X-COM EW campaign.

{As mentioned in the brief, this is a list of mods I made for my first X-COM EW campaign, which I won in the SteamGifts hand (thank you again, MunkiLord), but I mistakenly thought I won the second, so I ended up playing it. Anecdotes aside}.

List of Lovelace's X-COM mods (Long War - Enemy Within Edition)

Description.

I'm obsessed with beta modes, especially ES/FO modes (I'm familiar with modding tools).

Now, there was as much content in my queue to install X-COM 2 as I could get. It wasn't something I wanted to do as a side project. So this time I left everything relatively (for me) light - I wanted Long War and perhaps a few cosmetic mods. Easy LO for those who don't mind a small build (you can probably build on top of it, but I don't think the fashion is as extensive as in XCOM 2). Finally, I use Windows 10. If you are having problems, please check, maybe something is wrong (for example, download the version of fashion intended for your OS).

Basic requirements.

Clean install of the latest (Steam Build 848157) English version of X-Com Enemy Unknown and all DLC (you may only be able to play in Enemy Within or another language, but I do not know and can not provide such support).

You can read and follow the instructions written on installing mods (Note especially relevant for LW users).

The main mods and their installation:

Mandatory chapter. Don't skip this section.

Long War (duh): Follow the instructions on the fashion page to install.

Long War Rebalance: Install as instructed on the fashion page and install additional alien character skins. I set the female probability to 1/2 (I thought I'd try something like 3/4 to see if I could make women dominant, but decided I had to fix the fashion list before breaking it by editing ini). Instructions for editing ini can be found in the wiki under the link "Installation".

Sound Packages:

I used most voice packages, but after installing for my GF I will probably reduce them for personal use. Download all the voice packs in the mods section and install them as usual in the PCConsoleVoice folder of XCom-Enemy-UnknownXEWXComGame.

Update: in XCOM Soldiers 2 VP for LW is disabled (not sure permanently); remove the following voices if you use my preinstalled files:

VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_MaleSoldier4,Language=19,ArchetypeName="MaleVoice4_Australian").

VoicePackageInfo=(VoiceType=eCharVoice_FemaleSoldier3,Language=20,ArchetypeName="FemaleVoice2_Australian.Voice_FemaleVoice2_ Australia")

Optional mode.

Virtual Reality Training (for extended fights): The maximum gain rate is set to a low level, but I personally like this setting. The patcher is installed through the GUI.

Extra pockets: I wish there was an option that required research or something, but if you need it, get it. I have too many projects to start learning new modding tools and doing it myself. Note that there is a note that adding too much inventory can cause problems, so don't worry too much about the settings. Installed via patcher GUI.

Fashion testing:

Since it's a beta version, I'm obviously testing everything, but I don't know if I can skip these mods or if they'll play well with other mods that I use, since they're being tested now.

Stop wasting time: I'm going to check if the bugs that this mod fixes are showing up in the mods that I have. If so, I will check what happens when I run it with LWR. Personally, I did not notice this problem in my game. I'll be more careful next time, but I don't think it's necessary.

Improved Mech melee project: in my test list. I also want to make sure that mechs are not OT (I understand that this will help raise the mechs to the level, but I have not tested yet).

The Last Step.

If you followed step by step and use all the mods I made, download my ini file. If not, you will have to edit ini yourself (especially for sound packages). You can edit ini at your discretion (for example, if you go to a section I've added to Chinese sound packages, you can easily change the language # and replace it with a different language). Also, if you have a sound package that you don't need (I had a little luxury - I added a new sound package for the Chinese sound package, but not in the same language as the Chinese sound package. I will probably install it for my GF and cut out some for my own use), you can remove the corresponding audio strings in ini (some not quite clear, you will have to look in my spreadsheet or on the tabs of the article.

I'd like to try this:

I have these mods on my note, but I need to see if they work on my list and what I need to do to make them work. But my disk may no longer work. Again.

EDIT: I went through the game from start to finish. When I return to the game, I will add all the mentioned mods to test/try and see if I can make everything work together.

LWreTex (Long War) / Coloured Mec Icons / Texture Mods: Before I recycle the textures, I want to sort through the list and make sure everything is OK.

Revenge of the Sleeves: I couldn't install it (I think. If it works, it's definitely the main mod.

GoW Queen Myrrah Voice Pack: I use it, but I think it would be good as an MEC voice. I'm not sure it can be customized (I need to check if there are certain skills or other voices that can't be included).
