Clarity - Orange Tone Remover
About This Mod
New Vegas is an outstanding game full of character and charm, but I always disliked the unnatural filters and colors in landscapes. As someone who lived in the desert, I can assure you that the sky should not look like sugar icing. Simply put, Clarity changes the RGB inputs for all types of weather, viewports, viewport modifiers and lighting patterns in the base game and DLC to neutral values. What does that mean? There are no unnatural colors of the environment, all colors are naturally determined by the light source and the sky. For example, the RGB value of the ambient air is Red-162 Green-202 Blue-112, which is a total of 476. Divide this number by three to get 158.6 again, or round it to 159 and replace it with R, G, and B to maintain the same intensity and neutralize the hue. Also, the position of the lighting category has not been changed, and some areas look a little more red, but this is due to the use of warm lighting. No textures or models have been added to achieve these results, so there is no need to worry about performance degradation. What you see in the picture is what you get. dark nights ______________ A file called Dark Nights has been added to the New Vegas version of Clarity. As the name implies, this file changes all nighttime values in the source file to half (50%) of their corresponding values after neutralizing the tints. A comparative photo will help you understand my explanation. Personally, I use this version because it does not make the review too difficult and greatly emphasizes the feeling of the night. I don't like the mods that make the night too realistic, but at the same time it's a little silly to see the whole world at night - that's why I added extra files. RGB values in Fallout3 were relatively easy to fix, but New Vegas is a different story, many locations need to be handled by themselves, and I had to leave some of them completely vanilla settings. Hoover Dam, Fort, and Colorado River have been modified to show different weather conditions for locations that are in GECK, but not in the game, as simply changing the RGB settings would result in a gray cloud instead of the orange clouds, which would look pretty bad! This is because the RGB settings do not match the RGB settings. Don't worry, this type of weather doesn't use any new assets. Synchronizations kept their vanilla values, and it was just ImageSpace. The shell already had an excellent color balance, and the neutralization of surrounding tones seems to have narrowed the color range in this place. Searchlight is a unique place, which is one of the reasons for the green shade, and most attempts to neutralize RGB do not cope with this task. However, as long as the ImageSpace modifier remains vanilla, the RGB change in the Searchlight Weather entry works well. This change is included in version 1.1. If Clarity has one main goal, it is to increase the range of colors available in the game without artificially expanding it at the expense of new assets or personal color preferences. Neutralization has the effect of getting as close as possible to the true colors of models and textures, which, in my opinion, is not so bad, but, as mentioned at the beginning of this section, in New Vegas the effects are overloaded, which makes the task of loyalty and nobility much more difficult. This is because each of the ImageSpace modifiers has special settings for the time of day, clouds, wind speed, flowering and sunlight, which can be spoiled if disabled. I hope we can find the right balance. If I missed something, or if you think that the changes go beyond fashion or vanilla art style, please let me know.
The modes mentioned above (and others not listed) modify the same input data, and the visual styles that are attempted vary greatly. Technically, the game works fine if you let other mods redefine Clarity, but it completely obliterates the purpose of fashion.
