Description.

At that time, only one-fifth of the paved roads in Poland could withstand truck traffic with a weight per axle of about 10 tons.
The axial weight of the Żubr A80 and Jelcz 315/315M vehicles exceeded 8 tons. The result was the Jelcz 316 (1971-1984) and its successor, the Jelcz 326 (1982-1986).
The Jelcz 316Z and Jelcz 326Dz were also produced, with an increased power output of 176 kW.
