About This Mod
The Mechanics Are Explained:
Bank Buildings:
"Banks are now unique structures - real central banks, different for all major countries, more than 16 different and unique central banks per country (the rest of the countries will use a common central bank building).
"All these banks have potential of 1,000 levels (possibly more in the future), and depending on their strength, countries start at different levels.
- Every 5 years each of these banks increases its level by 25 levels, up to the maximum, to maintain the exchange rate without inflation or deflation. But the player or AI can also upgrade banks at will.
- Each of these central banks issues a unique currency (example: Fed issues dollars, Bank of England issues sterling, Bank of France issues French francs, etc.)
- Added only 19 different currencies: pound sterling/dollar/franc/German mark/real/guilder/yuan/rupee/yen/peseta/Ottoman lira/lira/peso/Mexican peso/ruble/Swiss franc/Belgian franc/florin. For example, the population of the Ottoman Empire will need Ottoman Lira, the population of China will need yen, etc.
"All these currencies, depending on the country where they are traded, are used by the population as required, as well as by all industries. Unlike V1, currency will not only affect the standard of living of your population according to your monetary policy, but also the entire industrial structure.
In groups of production methods you have 4 types of production methods that we will consider in detail: type of coinage, monetary policy, market operations, military economy.
First, in the type of coinage you have three types of coinage:
- The gold standard is the basic production method that allows you to use paper, services and gold to create coinage and currency.
- The method of production without the gold standard is available only when your country is isolationist, because it cannot have access to the gold market, so the currency is created only by paper, but the bank does not produce coinage. This forces you to open your market if you want to benefit from more money flowing into your gold reserves.
- (New) Reserve currency is a method of late game production, which is opened with the help of the International Exchange Standards technology, it is a more modern view of things where the gold standard is a past practice. It allows you to create currency and mint using 4 major currencies: pound sterling, dollar, franc, stamp. As if you were accumulating foreign currency with increased cash in your banks.
Second, in the monetary policy method, you have 3 types of policy: thanks to the gold standard method, it allows you to customize other production methods called monetary policy in the form of 3 other production methods:
"There is no monetary policy; it is the basic effect of the gold standard method.
- Devaluation is a production method that allows you to create more currency with less gold, which leads to a decrease in coinage (significant), a decrease in the prestige of your country, an increase in the standard of living of your population. (Life for your population is getting easier, they have easier access to money, so they have a better standard of living, they have more children...)
- Revaluation is the opposite: more coinage, less currency, a decrease in the living standards of your population, an increase in the prestige of your country.
Note 1: In all these production methods, your bank will issue Treasury bonds.
Note 2: The increase or decrease in a country's prestige is a fact; in real life, a country that devalues its currency will be regarded in the international arena as irresponsible or as a country that does not properly manage its economy. These production methods are available only when the gold standard method is activated.
Note 3: Unlike V1, these production methods can now be activated only by law, more conservative representatives will want a policy of raising interest rates, while progressive/working parties will be more for the policy of devaluation. The religious party is neutral.
Thirdly, in the method of market operations you have 3 types of market operations:
- This production method is possible due to the addition of 3 shares: company shares, mine shares, railway shares, each of these financial products is produced by default by the appropriate building.
- The method of market transactions is allowed when the method of revaluation is activated to buy either railway shares, railway shares + mine shares, or all 3. When gold inflow is reduced (greatly increased by the revaluation method)
Fourth, the Military Economy:
- It is a method of production that can be activated by law, which can be urgently adopted in the "Decisions" section for a period of 1 year. It allows for the production of military bonds by the central bank. If you have passed the law "Mass mobilization", you can use these military bonds in new methods of production in any military industry: ammunition industry/requisition for rifle production/requisition for artillery production/requisition for shipbuilding/requisition for military equipment production.
"This production method covers all costs and replaces the goods needed for construction. In addition, you get an increase in tariffs, your country has the ability to import more goods at a lower price, making it more attractive to import goods needed for war. But the consequence of this method of production is a heavy fine to the standard of living of your population.
Financial centers:
Financial centers are 6 unique new buildings: Bourse de Paris/ New York Stock Exchange/ Borsa di commercio di Milano/ London Stock Exchange/ Hong Kong Stock Exchange/ Borse Berlin/ Wienner Borse/ Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Note 1: They buy in the market of the country that has 3 types of shares (shares of companies, shares of mines, shares of railways) and produce a very expensive and useless commodity, but which gives a lot of prestige: mutual funds and produce a small amount of gold (This is very worrying to me, because it is illogical, but it greatly facilitates the method of gold reserve, which in V1 creates too much global demand for gold by the end of the game)
Note 2: Similar to the bank, these buildings have 100 levels, and all are at level 25 at the beginning of the game with an increase of 25 levels every 25 years.
Note 3: 3 types of stocks are constantly in deficit because the demand of these financial centers is global, the goal is that Mexican stocks exchange in the US or Spanish stocks exchange in London, ... Moreover, exchanging these shares from a country that does not have a financial center to one that does, allows the sector to be revitalized; indeed, if the railway's share price is low, exporting it to various foreign markets would increase its price in the domestic market, and thus make the railways profitable.
Shopping centers:
- 2 new methods of production in shopping malls related to monetary policy.
- When you vote for devaluation or revaluation of your currency, the latter loses/acquires its value against gold, but also against other world currencies, so it will affect your import and export (more information in the discussion section, descriptions in Steam are too small)
