About This Mod

This mode allows players to change quality settings that Valheim does not have access to. The configuration is built into BepInEx. This allows you to adjust settings even while playing.

By default, the mod uses settings that maximize the frame rate in the game. A mod can make the difference between a slideshow and a playable frame rate, especially in places with multiple light sources casting shadows such as campfires and portals.

Installation (manual).

1. Extract the archive into a folder. Do not unpack to game folder.

2. move the contents of the Add-ons folder to the <GameDirectory>.

3. start the game.

Configuration.

Use the configuration file<GameDirectory>¦KillerGoldFisch.ValheimFPSPlus.cfg to configure this mode (the configuration file is created the first time you start a game with the mod installed).

It can also be customized in-game using ConfigurationManager in BepInEx:

Configuration .

No Blizzard.

Replaces resource-intensive blizzards with normal snow.

Wallheim is the default.

Lie

Recommended

True

Anisotropic filtration

Anisotropic filtration mode.

Disable| Disables anisotropic filtering for all textures.

Enable| Enables anisotropic filtering for each texture.

ForceEnable| Enables anisotropic filtering for all textures.

Balheim Default

Enable

Recommended

Disable.

LodBias.

Global multiplier for LOD switching distance.

Higher values increase the viewing distance until a lower resolution LOD is selected.

Default

2.0

Recommended value.

1.3

The restriction of the basic texture.

When set to 1, the first mipmap of each texture will be used (so all textures will be half-sized), when set to 2, the second mipmap of each texture will be used (so all textures will have a quarter of the size). This can be used to reduce video memory requirements on low-power computers. The default value is 0.

0 => unlimited

Maximum LOD level.

Maximum LOD level. All LOD groups.

0 => no maximum.

MaxQueuedFrames.

The maximum number of frames that a graphics driver can queue.

The graphics driver can queue frames for processing; this queue can be quite large if the CPU can do much less work than the graphics card. In such cases, user input will "lag" behind what is displayed on the screen.

Use QualitySettings.maxQueuedFrames to limit the maximum number of frames that can be queued; the PC default is 2 to ensure the best balance between frame delay and frame rate.

Note that a lower maxQueuedFrames may reduce the input latency as the processor waits for the video card to render the previous frame. However, the frame rate is reduced.

ParticleRaycastBudget.

A budget that determines how many rays in a frame can be made for an approximate collision test.

Default

4096

Recommended

1

Number of pixel lights.

The maximum number of pixel highlights that affect an object.

If an object is illuminated by many lights, the darkest of them is considered to be the peak.

Valheim Default.

Real-time Reflection Probe

Enable real-time reflection probes.

Shadow gradations.

Number of steps used for directional light shadows.

Distance to the shade.

Shadow draw distance.

Walheim Default

Shadows.

Specifies which type of shadows to use.

There are three types: Hard shadows and soft shadows, only hard shadows and disable shadows.

Disable| Turns off shadows.

HardOnly| Hard shadows only.

All|Solid shadows and soft shadows.

Balheim is the default.

All|All

Recommended

Disability

Coverage weight.

The maximum number of bones per vertex to consider when covering all cells in the project.

Values can be 1-bone, 2-bone, 4-bone, or Automatic. Note that as the number of bones increases, performance may decrease, especially if the number of bones exceeds 4 bones per top.

OneBon|Each vertex is affected by one bone.

TwoBones|Two bones affect each vertex.

FourBones|There are four dice impacting each vertex.

Unlimited|An unlimited number of bones affect each vertex.

Walheim Default

FourBones

OneBone

Soft Particles.

Whether to use soft mixing for particles.

Default Valgeym

True

Recommended

Wrong

Soft Vegetation.

Uses a two-pass shader for vegetation in the relief engine.

If you enable this mode, the vegetation will have soft edges, if you turn off, all vegetation will have hard edges, but the rendering speed will increase about twice.

Default Valgeym
