Adventure backpacks

A fashion for Valheim that adds adventure backpacks to the game; these backpacks grow and become more useful as the game progresses.

This mod Valheim tries to present the concept of backpacks in the process of passing Valheim. Starting out as a small Viking and plundering pastoral meadows, you will eventually find supplies that seem to lead to a more meaningful destiny. Starting with a raincoat made of reindeer leather, you will eventually learn to make your own backpack for adventure. Now set out to meet your desire for wanderings.

How to use an adventure backpack

Play in Valheim as usual, creating items and exploring materials to learn new recipes for your adventure backpack.

The default hotkey is I, which opens the equipped backpack.

Each backpack has a completely different shape, function and size. Upgrading the backpack opens up additional opportunities depending on the progress in which it is used.

Keybindings and actions are compatible with the controller.

How to set up Adventure Backpacks

Download Adventure Backpacks in a special folder in the BepInEx/plugins folder.

Create a Translations folder and make sure that all translation files are stored there.

Name the AdventureBackpacks translation files.<language key>.json

Adventure Backpacks works on both the client and server sides.

When used on a dedicated server

You can lock and synchronize the configuration, but it is disabled by default.

To enable locking and configuration synchronization, you must restart the server.

Otherwise, the configuration synchronizes with the connected client and the server configurations apply.

Equipment presented in this mode

Six new backpacks

Satchel - a small backpack in which you can store items.

Sturdy Backpack - a sturdy backpack with buckles and straps made of genuine leather.

Bloodbag Wetpack is a sturdy backpack with a waterproof blood bag.

Arctic Sherpa Pack - Arctic backpack for long hikes.

Lox Hide Knappsack is an adventure backpack made of high-strength fox skin.

Explorers Wisppack - a complex mystic backpack. It has a special "compartment for things". No one knows how it works.

Features of backpacks.

Biomes of each backpack are fully customized depending on the progress.

Size.

Inventory grid size can be changed for each quality level of the backpack. Simply adjust the width and height in the settings for each quality level.

Recipe Settings

The default recipes can be found in the settings.

Drop Settings

Creatures and drop frequency are fully customizable.

By default, drop is disabled (since version 1.6.3).

Effects settings.

Each biome backpack can freely customize the effects available in this mode. No fixed codes exist for effects.

Setting of the maximum weight of the load carried

You can set a valid extra carrying weight for each level of the backpack.

Configure Speed Modification

Adjust the speed modification (slowness).

With each improvement in the quality of the backpack speed modifier decreases.

Open backpack in inventory

If this feature is enabled, it opens the backpack inventory along with the player's inventory without any additional action.

You can also snap to the mouse, keyboard, and controller.

To open the backpack in the inventory, hover over + Interaction.

When this feature is activated, hovering the cursor over the player's inventory and pressing the hotkey will open the backpack.

This function takes precedence over inventory closing.

Protection of inventory backpack.

All backpack inventory is under the private control of Thor and is monitored for interactions that could damage the existence of items in the backpack.

Backpacks inside backpacks are prohibited and are the only feature that can not be customized. It was Allfater's dream. List of currently defined compatible inventory modes:

Fast Stack Depot

Fast transfer of items (function is present in backpacks)

Multiplayer Chest

Backpack control system

Fully supports portal technology and ensures that unwanted items will not be stored in backpacks in the player's inventory.

This function works in all portal/teleport modes that use the Inventory.IsTeleportable() method.

Tip: Don't use the Humanoid.IsTeleportable() method because it doesn't take into account backpack inventory.

Keys stored in equipped backpacks can open locked portals without having to access the player's inventory.

Swamp Wrench for Basements

Optional right-click quick transfer (quick transfer of items)

Enables you to move an item or a set of items between a player's inventory and an open container with a single right click.

The functionality is the same as the Quick Item Transfer mode.

Escape mode.

When you press the Quick Release button (default: Y), the attached backpack is immediately released and falls to the ground behind the player.

This feature is optional and is disabled by default.
