About This Mod

You can ride and control domesticated boars and wolves.

Description.

Allows you to ride and control tame boar and wolf.

The updated version of Hearth & Home now uses saddles for wolf and boar riding, similar to the base game. Each saddle can be manufactured at lower levels. The game's behavior was tied to the base game's system, which made it more reliable. Some features have been lost because they do not match the way in which the main game operates (e.g. using the mounts to attack).

Features.

Create wolves and boar saddles and attach them to appropriate pets.

Wolf and boar saddles can be manufactured at a lower level than Lox saddles: boar saddles are on bronze and wolf saddles are on silver.

Wild boars and wolves can be controlled in the same way as vanilla Lox.

Wild boars and wolves have adjustable stamina (default: 120 for wolves, half as much as Locks, 60 for wild boars).

All mounts (including Locks) can now teleport through portals (for Locks, just pushing his head into the portal and you and Locks teleport).

Beautiful saddles for boar and wolf models were provided by @Debarba (patreon.com/littleroomdev).

Experiment: jump on the other player's back and ask them to ride. However, Vikings are not easy to tame, and you can not control them, but can only conduct them. Use the Left Shift + To Ride key (disabled by default, should be enabled in the settings. The Left Shift modifier key can be switched in the configuration).

Configuration.

BepInExconfig\Koosemose.MountUp.cfg has created a configuration file that enables you to enable or disable the durability of each mount, allow teleportation, allow experimental player's mount, and allow player's mount modifier keys. Also added the setting "Set Mount Points". Some other modes adjust the player's size (in particular by changing the player's model), but the placement of the attachment points is based on the player's standard size, and therefore the player is placed incorrectly. This setting can be changed to accommodate player size changes.

Special Mounts

First, new special riders must be tame creatures. Without other modes, they cannot be tamed creatures that have not yet been tamed. Second, set 'Enable Custom Mounts' to true and 'CustomMountCount' to at least 1 in the configuration. When you run the game with these settings, there will be some empty entries for the custom mounts.

Now that you have an entry to create a custom pin, you need to enter a name for it. This will be the name of the prefab, for example, 'Hatchling' if you want to get a spleen.

The next important point is the path to the mount, which determines where the saddle will be placed and to what "bone" it will be attached. If you do not know which path to use, leave this value blank; MountUp will try to find a reasonable path and suggest several alternatives if it finds one. It will automatically set this value to the first path it finds (in the order it normally finds the best paths). If it is not suitable, your player. The log contains the following line:

[Message: Mount Up] Found Hatchling potential mount path: Hatchling_mountain/Armature/Root/Spine1

Possible alternatives

Hatchling_mountain/Armature/Root/Tail1/Tail2

Hatchling_mountain/Armature/Root/Spine1/Spine2/Neck1/Neck2/Neck3/Head

For example, if you want to ride more on the neck of the spleen, you can use the latter option and shave off some bones from Hatchling_mountain/Armature/Root/Spine1/Spine2/Neck1.

The saddle classes and their strength are simple: 1st level - boar/base saddle, 2nd level - wolf/standard saddle and 3rd level - rocks/advanced saddle. Stamina is the amount of stamina consumed; by comparison, it is 240 for the Locks, 120 for the wolf, and 60 for the boar.

Mount works from here, but will probably sit a little uncomfortable. The seat position and attachment point can be used for the seat and seat position. If you want to make this more visual, set the game to "Enable Adjusting Custom Mounts" to true. It is not recommended to leave the value true, as it will also disable the animation of the creature (relative positions will be shifted, making it impossible to adjust the position of the seat and the anchorages). Then in the game you can switch between None, Saddle Positioning and Mount Point Positioning modes by pressing the Set Custom Mount Mode Key key (default is Left Control + Back Quote `). Use the arrow keys and the Page Up/Down keys to set the appropriate positions, then press Right Control, Shift Right, and Alt Right to set the amount of motion (the default value is 1, then 0.5, 0.1, and 0.05). For each change, a line will appear in the Player.log file that can be inserted directly into the configuration file (for the saddle position, start with 'Saddle Position =', as in the configuration settings). Note: When adjusting the saddle and mount position, if they are too far apart, Valheim can throw you away and you cannot sit in the saddle until you leave the world and enter it again.

The last two settings are Saddle Scale and Saddle Rotation. In most cases, they are not needed, so the default settings are fine. If required, "Rotation" must be specified in degrees. Some creatures turn uncomfortably in their natural position. For example, Drake looks straight up, in which case Saddle Rotation = {'x':270.0, 'y':0.0, 'z':0.0}.

Server Usage

If not all players on the server have the mod set, the saddle will be lost or unpredictable when trying to ride it.

Manual Installation

You can install Mount Up manually by putting .dll in the BepinExplugins directory.

Known issues.

If the Player Ride feature is enabled and another player is coming to you, trying to ride it can cause both players to try to exist on each other's backs, causing them both to take off quickly until at least one of them unties.
