About This Mod
The MIDI 700 was the first 0-4-0 locomotives built by the Schneider manufacturer at the Le Cresot factory in the 1860s. They were used mainly for freight and mixed trains by MIDI. In the 1890s, some MIDI 700 locomotives were refurbished, with the addition of a new cabin and boiler.
The MIDI 2000 locomotives were a development of the 700 series, with a new nozzle system and a huge steam dome. This model produced excellent results and was exported to other European countries. In the early 20th century, the MIDI 2000 was reformed to include a new air brake, direct chimney, and closed cockpit.
In 1938, 13 MIDI 700s remained in service. In the SNCF, they were renamed to the 040B series. 22 MIDI 2000 locomotives remain in service. In the SNCF, they were renamed to the 040D series.
This modification adds the 700 and 2000 series to MIDI.
