About This Mod

I decided to rename my fashion "HQ SNOW TEXTURE" to "Nordic Snow". In my opinion, this snow looks more realistic than the vanilla snow Skyrim. I come from a country with a lot of snow (Norway), so I think I can say that I know what I'm talking about.


Vanilla texture has a little problem with shingles, it looks too dark and more like foam than snow - I think it just doesn't look realistic. They also had trouble converting all the textures to the newest, so their snow with tracks has a different shade.



I was trying to get a more crystallized appearance of my texture and at the same time overcome the lack of vanilla. These textures have been around for a long time, and now I've decided to move them to Special Edition. With my textures you will still have the benefits of a new snow shader that they added to the special edition.



Mod "HQ snow texture" became a big hit in the workshop of Steam and relatively well established itself on Nexus, so be sure these textures are well made.

You can use EdmondNoir's HD Nordic Snow with Parallax if you prefer to use Nordic snow with Parallex. Note that this patch also requires the installation of Nordic snow.


It works with almost everything except other snow textures. My textures are also very similar in color and brightness to vanilla, so rest assured that they will also work well with any enb, etc., that work on vanilla. Also remember that this mod contains only textures, so it will not cause any harm to you or your saves.


If you plan to use texture packs that already contain snow textures, make sure you set my mod last and overwrite everything. My textures only replace those that involve snow, so you can be sure that the mod will work well with any basic texture pack of your choice. Personally, I use only vanilla textures and Nordic Snow.


The files for ineed and Majestic Mountains have been added to 3.4.3, so you don't have to do it yourself if you use these mods. These extra files won't do any harm if you don't use these mods, so don't worry about it.


Note that this texture does not work very well with Blended roads, this is because BR uses the alpha channel to make the ground transparent. The problem is that this alpha channel is also used to control the reflection of textures. I do not recommend the use of mixed roads.
