About This Mod

About this fashion

This mod introduces important improvements to the HDR. processing pipeline in Red Dead Redemption, in particular, unlocks glare that were limited because the Postfx shader clamped the SDR. band. I also made it so that when setting the slider to white on 196 nits, it rounded it to 203 nits (reference white color BT.2408).

This mod uses ReShade's add-on system to simplify updates and avoid directly correcting game files. Source code available on GitHub

I recommend using a Lilium's tonemap shader if your display has low peak brightness (such as HDR400 displays), but otherwise you can just let your display trim the brighter glare since they are mostly small and accurate, so you won't lose real detail.

Installation

1. Install Reshade 6.3.3 or higher with add-on support. No ReShade effects are required.

2. Copy the mod files to the *Red Dead Redemption* installation folder.

3. Start the game.
