Unity Mod Manager Software

This tool allows the use of mods in games that do not officially support mods.

How it works

Unity Mod Manager consists of two parts: a mod installer and a mod loader that runs inside the game.

The installer patches the game files and copies additional files into the game folder, allowing the UMM to run alongside the game.

When starting the game, the manager loads all mods from the "Mods" folder, automatically opens the UMM interface, which can be closed or opened again using CTRL+F10.

The mod manager can't automatically download mods, but can check for updates if you don't block it from the firewall.

This is an unofficial mod support and the game developer is not responsible for these mods. Also, do not send bug reports to game developers if you have installed any mods, as bugs may be caused by mods rather than games.

How to install (video)

• Download UnityModManager.zip
• Extract the archive (e.g., to your desktop, do not copy it to the game folder) and run UnityModManager.exe (recommended as administrator)

If the program does not open, try installing the latest version of Net Framework 4, otherwise proceed to the next step

• Select a game from the list. If the game folder is not detected automatically, select it yourself (for example, \Steam\steamapps\common\YourGame\) (the path should contain only English letters)
• Select the installation method (DoorstopProxy is preferred if available. Assembly is more reliable, but stops working after updates).
• Click on the "Install" button.

How to install (console version)

• Run console.exe
• Select a game from the list
• Enter the game path
• Select the installation command and installation method

If set by build method

• Any game update can remove UMM from the game. In this case, click Install again.
• If you have a game from GOG, click the "Recover game sources" button before updating the game. Otherwise, the update may not install.

How to delete

• Run UnityModManager.exe
• Select a game from the list
• Click Delete.
• Click Restore Sources (if available).

How to install mods

• Download mod
• Extract the archive and place the folder with the mod in the "Mods" folder in the game folder or through the "UMM Mods" tab.
• Run the game

Linux and Mac

Download and install mono

• For Linux, run "mono UnityModManager.exe" or "mono console.exe" from the command line with the path to UnityModManager.
• For Mac, run "mono console.exe" through the terminal with the path to UnityModManager.

For Mac M1/M2, use Rosetta.

• Select a game/folder, and then select how to install the build. Click Install.

If you have a path to a dot game, you need to create a symbolic link. For example, ls -s /home/user/.steam/ /home/user/steam. Otherwise, the folder will not be displayed.

If the font is not displayed, the wine must be set to winetricks allfonts.
