About This Mod

The xNVSE plugin allows editing and saving scripts in GECK and updating them in real time without having to restart the game. You can also save scripts directly to GECK from a text editor - a great utility if you are a Fallout New Vegas modder. Report Violation Description Hot Reload allows you to "live" encode your game; when you save the script to GECK, Hot Reload transfers the compiled script data from GECK to Fallout New Vegas and updates the script so that there is no need to restart the game. Restarting a game is often a huge problem and takes a lot of time from the makers of mods for this game, and this mod was created to alleviate this problem. Using Compile the script in GECK with the open game, and Hot Reload will automatically try to load the script in hot mode. Compiling scripts when saving files Now you can save and compile scripts in GECK without having to open a script editor in GECK! When you save the script to GECK, Hot Reload will generate the Fallout New Vegas script file. This means that you can create scripts directly from Atom or Notepad++ without having to copy and paste them into GECK. Hot Reload also creates a text script file so that it does not need to be copied from GECK (the script is programmed to create a text script file when saving to GECK). Example For a script with TestScript editor ID, start editing the file containing the path Fallout New VegasScriptsTestMod.esp: it is strongly recommended to include b ScriptCompileWarningPopup=1 in geckextender.ini to use this feature (MO2 wants to overwrite this file in overwrite dir, so you may need to edit it there) Opening in-game links in GECK The ToGECK console command can be used to open in-game links and main forms in GECK on the fly. Save files to disk in GECK without closing the game Now you can save files to GECK without closing the game. This does not imply general support for a hot reset for those who are not scripters. Just note that the annoying restriction has been removed, so you can always save .esp/.esm files to disk, thereby reducing the chance of job loss. The GetGameHotReloaded command - similar to GetGameLoaded, this command returns true every time a script is hot-reloaded.
