About This Mod

This mod adds 105 unique skill journals to Fallout New Vegas. Unique skill magazines have HI-RESOLUTION because texture maps are much larger than in vanilla magazines.


Magazines of unique skills HI-RESOLUTION, because texture maps are much larger than in vanilla magazines. All journals add 1 skill point upon acquisition. All magazines are unique! You'll never see the same cover twice. Vanilla skill journals will still be available. Their location, appearance, and effects have not changed. Unique magazines are scattered around the wasteland just like vanilla magazines. However, unlike vanilla magazines, they are all completely unique. This means that only one copy of each magazine can be found in the wasteland. Thus, we decided that finding magazines with skills would be more interesting and exciting. All the magazines will be found indoors, not in the desert. Magazine covers are the best match for the skills studied. For example, science and repair are taught at Mechanix Illustrated, and gun skills at Wrestling World. Some things don’t match, like Nudie, but it is meant only to teach medical skills.) In any case, some of them will come as a surprise.


These unique magazines can be taken and given as often as you want. Each time you pick up or drop a unique log, a message box appears on the screen. It will notify you that you are receiving or losing certain skill points. These skill magazines can be used as collectible items. Take them to the player's house and collect them. They can also be sold at 50 caps each if coins are needed.


All magazines will have a MAG prefix: to its name when they appear in the Pip-Boy.
