About This Mod

By default, Cyberpunk uses 2 bounces and 2 beams to route the path. Adding more bounces/rays increases lighting accuracy with reduced recoil.

Almost all presets have 4 bounces and 6 rays in photo mode (default is 2B 4R). This does not affect the performance of the game or external screenshots in photo mode. It is activated only when you press the space bar to take a screenshot using the cyberpunks tool.

Preset Range:

1B1R = 1 reflection of 1 beam (better performance, but there are problems with reflection)

1B2R = 1 reflection of 2 beams (better performance than the default game and minimal loss of quality - some areas darker)

1B 3-6R increases rays and theoretically things like reflections (not yet verified by me)

2B1R - again problems with reflections due to 1 beam, but a little better color accuracy than in 1B (and a little better performance than in vanilla)

2B2R (vanilla) does not exist because it is the default value of the game

....

The more bounces, the more rays, etc.

the bigger, the worse the performance, but the better the picture quality

not all scenes are affected in the same way and a diminishing return is expected

...

4B6R will set your apartment on fire

To install, simply copy the xByR.archive file to the CyberpunkFolder /archive/pc/mod folder.

If the mod folder does not exist, just create it.

Only one file can be installed at a time!!!

I uploaded a video to demonstrate some of the results.

Be healthy!

==============

Added a new screenshot preset. It works only when using the game's screenshot mechanism (photo mode and space for capture).

Screenshots are saved in the documents/CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/screenshots folder by default (at least on GOG, but I assume this applies to steam as well).

!! 1 Beam can cause problems with reflections and generally reduce accuracy - so I did not add it to all Bounce metrics as it is a last resort to improve FPS

!! Will conflict with other mods that modify cp2077_master_env_ep1_v006.env (cp2077_master_env_nge_v002 for pre 2.0), such as NCL

==============================

How to make such a mod yourself:

1. download and install WolvenKit Nightly (Nightly is important - at least for now)

2. create a project

3. View > Asset Browser

4. locate the file cp2077_master_env_ep1_v006.env

5. double-click to add to project

6. open the file from Project Explorer

7. go to worldRenderSettings > areaParameters > 29 PathTracingSettings

8. Change bounceNumber / bounceNumberScreenshot and rayNumber / rayNumberScreenshot to your liking

9. Save

10. Pack fashion

11. In the project folder, open the zip file until you reach ProjectName.archive

12. Rename it to the preset that it has, and drop it in the folder with fashion CP2077.

Done!

/This can be done as a modification for other mods using the cp2077_master_env_nge_v002 / cp2077_master_env_ep1_v006.env file.

Follow step 3:

4. select the ModBrowser tab in AssetBrowser

5. open the mod folder and add the cp2077_master_env_ep1_v006.env file to the project

continue from step 6. as before

13. Optional: Remove the old mod you have changed from the mod folder and leave only this new file

!!!remember to save before packing the mod and close the zip file if you make a new one in advance

EDIT

now, probably just use ini mods such as "More pathtracing rays and bounces for Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and Phantom Liberty" from Schreedr or E3roKK's "Raytracing Overdrive Optimizations" and customize it for yourself

it's kind of making this fashion meaningless
