About This Mod
Have you seen Sven examine the animation of Baldur's Gate a hundred times? Do you hate the blasphemy of "pressing any key" since your unbearable childhood spent on consoles? Are you used to starting a game and turning your attention to other things while it's downloading? This mod will help you save precious seconds of your time.
On a serious note, this is the simplest mod that does only one thing - skips waiting for your input after downloading the Baldur's Gate splash screen animation and loads the main menu.
Starting with version 1.5, it loads the menu buttons from the beginning, not after moving to part of the dungeon screensaver animation (thanks to bidaum92 for pointing me out the difference between KB and the controller versions).
Hint: If you also install No Intro mod, it will be your shortest path to the main menu.
For controller users: You can initialize the gamepad pre-menu by moving the sticks or pressing the button when loading the game. Otherwise, when using the controller, the game will be delayed for a second in the main menu.
Installation:
If you have an older version of the files, first uninstall SplashScreen.xaml, MainMenu_c.xaml, and MainMenu.xaml in the Widgets subfolder. Then simply drop the .pak from the archive into the user/appdata/local/larian studios/baldur's gate 3/mods folder or install it using BG3 Mod Manager/Vortex. In Mod Manager, the mod must be in the Overrides section. Mark the mod as the replacement in Vortex.
