About This Mod
Greetings to all.
Since the DoF and blur effects for some reason don't work in my game, I started experimenting with them using Reshade.
I am now pleased with this preset, which gives the game a more cinematic look, enhances colors and improves shadows (at least to my taste).
THIS SOLUTION HAS BEEN CALIBRATED TO MY MONITOR SETTINGS. If the solution is too dark for you, calibrate it to brighten to your liking!
You can safely turn off blur effects in the game's repaint window. There are two settings for this: motion blur and noise blur.
This Reshade adds a working permanent DoF "out of focus" and a motion blur effect that is less dazzling than the built-in game (and seems less demanding, at least on my machine).
To install, first download the latest version of Reshade here https://reshade.me/.
Then run the program and install it by selecting retail.exe from space marine 2.
If you are setting effects, uncheck all effects, and then check all to set them all. (I do this because, for some reason, installing only the files I use manually causes the game to crash and/or doesn't load effects.)
After installing Reshade, go to the Space Marine folder 2\client_pc\root\bin\pc and delete the reshade-shaders folder you just installed. Then manually set the reshade-shaders and ini folder to Nyar Reshade.zip, which you have downloaded from this Fashion page.
Now go to https://framedsc.com/GameGuides/spacemarine2.htm#tools and follow the instructions to have reshade boot into the game.

If you experience problems with Reshade, such as a game that freezes or crashes, go to <steam installation folder>\Space Marine 2\client_pc\root\bin\pc and delete or rename GFSDK_Aftermath_Lib.x64.dll. After that, Reshade will function normally in the game.
EAC won't cause you problems with Reshade (at least I haven't had it yet, but I recommend NOT USING it if you plan to play PVP. He calmly works in single-player games and PVE operations.
