About This Mod

Southern Intersection: Victorian CSA. The Confederate States begin as playing nations at the beginning of the game. This regime suggests that the crisis of redefinition in 1832 is different from what was on the historical timeline.

I want to create fashion since 1861, but the amount of research needed to determine the population and level of economic development of each state in the world may be taken by me, but if someone is interested in doing research, I am ready to make fashion. Until then, after enjoying the csa from 1836, I wanted to get a reasonable backstory.

Background: Regime vs Date

Historical Deca - The United States faced civil war some 30 years before the civil war between 1832 and 1833. This became known as the nullification crisis in 1832. The roots of the annulment crisis began with abhorrent tariffs in 1828. This tariff included a tax rate of up to 45 per cent on certain imports.

The economy of the southern United States was based on more self-sufficient trade. Thus, high tariffs have caused the southern economy double damage. This has not only led to an increase in the cost of goods/materials that are normally imported. It also reduced demand for goods/materials that the southern economy normally exports. For example, if the value of clothing increases, the amount of money purchased will be less. If you have less clothes to buy, you'll need less cotton.

This double blow to the economy of the South caused great discontent in the South, where they not only had to spend more to meet their needs, but as the Northerners became richer at the expense of the Southerners, they earned less money to buy their needs.

Attempts to rectify this were made in the 1832 schedule. Parliament, controlled by the North, amended the highest tax rate, which reduced it from 45% to 35%. However, this was considered to be the only symbolic measure in the South, as these tax rates continued to be detrimental to the economy of the South. This is John K., Andrew Jackson's vice president. This led to Calhoun's resignation.

Calhoun of South Carolina was an outspoken advocate of abolishing the death penalty, a political theory that states could repeal federal laws so that they would not be applied within state boundaries. The South Carolina legislature (representing states whose population had declined by 15 percent as a result of economic hardship due to tariffs) declared the 1828 and 1832 tariffs unconstitutional and unenforceable in South Carolina in 1832-11. It was also argued that the attempt to use force to collect taxes would result in the division of the state. To prepare for these opportunities, the state has drafted more than 25,000 troops.

The United States responded with a carrot-and-stick approach. On the one hand, they forced President Jackson to pass legislation authorizing the use of force against South Carolina, and on the other hand, in 1833, they accepted a historic compromise tariff and gradually reduced it over a 20-year period until they reached a more acceptable tax rate of 10%.

South Carolina decided that this was a better option than war, and responded by quashing the Invalidation Ordinance, but in its last token act of defiance, it nullified the Power Bill. Both sides were able to withdraw the army, and the impending national divorce was annulled 27 years later.

Southern Crossroads Timeline - In this regime timeline, during a cancelation crisis, Congress manages to pass the Power Act, but it cannot pass the 1833 Compromise Tariffs. South Carolina decided to leave the Union without sacrificing the table, although it was impossible to save face. Jackson angrily urges the volunteers to crush what he considers a rebellion.

This, combined with the pain caused by the 1828 tariffs, was too much for some other southern states. Unwilling to take up arms against fraternal countries, they left the union, enriching the North’s commercial interests with the economic costs of the South’s agricultural interests.

Even if a large part of the North's population opposed the impending war, war seemed inevitable because of Jackson's strength of personality and his desire to remain united. As farmers risked their blood and treasure to prop up industrial interests that seemed as alien to farmers as those of southern planters, an incipient anti-slavery movement was happy to abandon as many slave owners and voting rights as they enjoyed, leaving seven out of five presidents as slave owners.

At this point, a recently widowed postmaster named John Brown of Randolph, Pennsylvania, took matters into his own hands and killed President Jackson, who was angered by Jackson's slavery, the Indian Eviction Act, and feared that the US would have a golden opportunity. many slave owners.

Both countries were shocked and appalled by the event. The desire for war against the newly formed Confederacy faded when anger was directed against the abolitionist movement it represented. The Confederates allowed the impending gun battle at Fort Pinckney in Charleston Harbor to cool off, rather than attacking the fort as planned. Eventually, when the crisis was over, the Union garrison retreated. This allowed the two countries to disperse largely peacefully, except for the death of the president and the hanging of extremists.

CSA is at a crossroads. Which way are you gonna put him down? Industrialize or support agriculture. Peaceful coexistence with neighbors and expansion by the decommunizers. Save slavery or become a truly free country. You ask these questions at the Southern Intersection: Victorian CSA.
