About This Mod

This mode changes the number of people in the game by multiplying the capacity of new city buildings by a factor.

Consumption

  • If you start a new fashion game or create a city with a generator, all buildings will get the changed values directly
  • When you add an existing saved game, the effect appears after a certain amount of time:
  • While AI automatically updates city buildings, the capacity of new buildings will adjust accordingly, and the overall values will adapt over time
  • You can turn off the mod at any time. The modified capacity of the existing buildings will be retained and the new buildings will again have normal values

Effects

  • Once all buildings have been renovated, the overall values (population, commercial and industrial) should be higher/lower by several times than the target value the city wants to grow to
  • The number and appearance of buildings is not affected, only the capacity
  • Thus, cities have the same size and the same urban landscape (number of skyscrapers)

Factor (default: 2)

You can change it in the fashion settings, either by using CommonAPI or in the settings.lua file, each of which before downloading

  • For larger populations, set this value to > 1 (decimal values are also possible)
  • If you want to increase productivity, set the ratio to a value between 0 and 1 (for example, 0.5 to halve the population)
  • A value of 0 means that each building receives a minimum capacity of 1

With fashion settings, you can also change the city's development interval, which determines how often AI builds buildings and streets. However, during testing, I was unable to determine if this had any impact.

You can combine mod with editor from sandbox mode to vary city size. So you can, for example, create large cities that are not too crowded.
