About This Mod
Wolfgang Walusek designed the Austrian Federal Railways in the 1980s and 1990s and still forms the ÖBB design with his repainted and designed works. The design of the new series 1012, 1014, 1822 and 1163 was based on his designs.
ÖBB 1012: 160 km/h, 6400 kW, 300 knots, since 1997
The ÖBB 1012 was designed and built as a successor to the tried-and-tested 1044 series by SGP/Siemens in the form of 3 pre-production locomotives without fixed order confirmation by ÖBB. Reluctantly, ÖBB purchased three locomotives at a high unit price and used the unpopular single locomotives mainly in the Rola movement in Tyrol. In 2006, after the delivery of the ÖBB 1116, some were sold to Hectorrail in Sweden.

For the planned joint world exhibition in Vienna and Budapest, 18 units of this light two-frequency locomotive were ordered to be able to service traffic between the two cities. The World's Fair did not take place, the locomotives were too weak for express traffic, so they were used in regional transport, with the City Airport Train (CAT) train, as well as in heavy freight transport, where they were destroyed. After the expiration of the lease contracts, the locomotives were scrapped and sold to Romania, and in 2018, some locomotives were bought, recycled and reused by Zeller Transport Technik (ZTT).
