About This Mod
Brazil's Gold Rush! A large amount of gold was found near Ouro Preto in the state of Minas Gerais, near Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil at the time. Therefore, Ouro Preto, which means "black gold" in Portuguese, became the capital of the state of Minas Gerais and one of the richest cities in South America. Due to the lack of good infrastructure, gold was transported to the ocean mainly by foot on so-called "golden trails" through mountainous terrain. Creating a decent transport link between the two capitals would indeed boost the region’s economy. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
Map
This is a 1:3 small map. It includes 7 cities and 3 supply chains (food, machinery and, of course, gold). The map was hand-painted, and all cities and industries were placed neatly and manually. Especially for this card, a fashion was made to give it a pleasant Brazilian atmosphere. I hope you like it!
Mod
The mode is required for the Central do Brasil: Gold Rush card. It includes a number of objects, assettes and scripts to make the map a little more Brazilian. It includes the following:
- Brazilian music (bossanova and samba) was added to the game.
- Brazilian names of streets and people
- New types of cargo:
- Gold
- cattle
- A script that adds a new load type to all vehicles in the game that can carry a specific existing load type. For example, all vehicles that can carry coal can also carry gold.
- New industries:
- Meat Farm (produces livestock)
- Port, for the export of gold.
- Port, to import coal.
- Food factory (needs cattle and produces food)Golden

- New texture: River. There's an ocean on the map, but I also wanted to add rivers to the rest of the map. However, this part of the map is much higher. So I added rivers as texture; so they're just aesthetic.
- The passenger station buildings have been repainted in a more Brazilian style.
- The tracks were given a yellow, grassy texture to better fit the landscape
