About This Mod
Use Friendly HUD, it's just better.
With this mod you can make the map transparent, but leave markers. It will make the card less intrusive, but you will still feel the direction. There is also a version that shows only the clock.
Check out Dynamic Minimap fashion. This is a good update of this fashion.
