(Next Gen Edition) Friendly HUD

This mod is for version 4.0 of the game, also known as "Next Gen Edition" (NGE).

NGE introduces several QoL changes that were previously provided by FriendlyHUD - now they are removed from the fashion files: access to the main menu from dialogs and cutscenes, fixing the message "unable to call a cockroach" appearing in the room under certain conditions. Therefore, before you install the NGE mod version, make sure that you have completely uninstalled the non-Classic Edition (CE) version.

Note that NGE partially duplicates the dynamic map and the fashion quest log, so you need to disable them in the vanilla options if you want FriendlyHUD to properly manage these modules.

Also note that the mod does not hide the HUD modules, but shows them. Therefore, if you want to use the smart HUD feature, you need to disable the modules one at a time using the in-game vanilla video options menu (see details below).

Description

Disabling some parts of the HUD makes the gameplay more exciting. But playing without a map or health panel can be both painful under certain circumstances and fantastic when you just explore the world. This mod offers many options for customizing HUD modules, as well as adding 3D markers for quest and NPC tracking and making several improvements to the game menus. You can use all the fashion options or disable the ones you don't need.

Maud does not change any of the balance aspects of the game and only provides the player with information to which he already has access. By installing it, you won't make the game easier or more unrealistic, it's a mod of the user interface, the goal of which is to improve the quality of life and immersion in the game.

Note: The mode does not change the save files, so installing or removing it in the middle of a game is not dangerous.

Important!

Mod does not hide HUD modules, but shows them. Therefore, if you want to use smart HUD, you need to disable modules one at a time using the in-game vanilla video menu. You do not need to disable all modules, only those you do not want to see permanently. Modules that are included in the video game options are not affected by fashion and retain their vanilla behavior. It is also important to know that disabling all HUDs by using a hotkey or menu switch will cause the modules to not be displayed at all (since the modules are part of the HUD, and when all HUDs are disabled, nothing is displayed).

How to install/uninstall mod

We recommend that you use The Witcher 3 Mod Manager to install the mod. It automatically handles the installation of the mod, menus, hotkeys and user settings. You will still have to run Script Merger to resolve script conflicts with other mods, if you have one.

You can remove mods using TW3 Mod Manager.
