About This Mod
Save Ship 2 for Rimworld - serves as a comprehensive review of space flight. Build orbital fortresses, explore fragments of old ships and travel between distant worlds of Rimworld!
In Vanilla Rimworld, the ship's only purpose is to serve as an expensive victory state. SOS2 attempts to make it an actual game element from the second half of the game. After building the base ship and bringing it into orbit, it plays many roles. Small production/no raids to store colonists if you reach a full space station, resource sinks and above all, an easy way to enter the planet and start an orbital quest.
The requirements for introducing a spacecraft into orbit on SOS2 are much simpler than vanilla. Only one bridge, sensors, a transfer compartment and a chemical fuel engine are required on the launch base ship. There you can expand it to the contents of your mind.
SOS2, as its predecessor, performs the jumping process differently than planets. Instead of starting a new game, you can jump after pressing the button between the worlds and creating Johnson Tanaka's engine. The whole previous world is preserved so that you can visit the planet again. If you leave the world, you can transfer your right to own a colony to your colonial factions. If you choose to return, it could be a prosperous settlement for this faction. Descendants feel grateful enough to give them a present.
