"Layered Wall Destruction" mod
About This Mod
A modification designed to make urban battles more exciting by introducing a system of stages of breaking down walls. When raiders knock out all the strength of your normal wall, it doesn’t just disappear, but turns into a degraded version of itself, creating chaotic bunkers and aisles inside your premises.
To rebuild a destroyed wall, a pawn with the skill of "Building" must come up and repair it. Your faction's walls are automatically marked for restoration. At the moment, only man-made walls are supported. Natural stones and smoothed mountains are not recoverable.
To compensate for the increased strength, HP ordinary walls are slightly reduced. Also, dirt corresponding to the wall material is generated.
The process of breaking down walls is unstable. Sometimes you break through a column and sometimes a weak point. When a conventional wall collapses, it moves into stage 1A or 1B. After these stages are destroyed, it progresses to stage 2. It is possible that the wall will immediately move into stage 2 twice.
Stage 1A: Wall with bullets
An impassable wall with many small holes through which to shoot. Functionality is similar to CE embrasures, but in terms of shelter inferior to them. After destruction, turns into debris.
Walls with bullets can be visually identified by numerous holes, although they generally retain an intact profile.
Stage 1B: The Broken Wall
A wall under which you can climb or climb, but you can't shoot. Blocks review, but allows you to go through. It is inspired by Sloped Walls. After destruction, it breaks into debris.
Cracked walls can be visually identified by large aisles that cross them from one edge to the other.
Stage 2: Debris
The last stage before the complete destruction is the wreckage of the walls, which can be walked and fired upon. It's basically a degraded sandbag. In CE, they provide little shelter for the feet.
After destroying the wreckage, the cage becomes empty, as in the original version of the game. If automatic construction is enabled, a drawing of the original wall type will be created.
Debris can be visually distinguished by lighter tones, less pronounced shadows, and an irregular texture of the destroyed material.
Compatibility
Conflicts with other mods have not yet been identified. If the mod adds a new type of wall that has not been adapted for the system, those walls will behave as in a standard game.
