"Geological Landforms" mod
About This Mod
Adds 27 new types of terrain to the game world, each of which is formed independently of the biome.
The goal of this fashion is to make procedural map generation more fun and diverse, compared to a standard game where you can only encounter rocky areas or coastal strip.
The features of the selected map tile are displayed in the "Special characteristics" section of the map terrain tab. Some types of terrain are generated due to the temperature range, rainfall and other conditions necessary for their occurrence.
Some of the added terrain shapes have a significant impact on the gameplay, making it either easier or more difficult depending on the specific situation. For example, islands and archipelagos are often remote from each other, but contain few resources needed to extract rock and ore. Canyons and faults, by contrast, are easy to protect, and contain a lot of ore, but few natural resources, such as food, light, wood, or breeding grounds for plants or animals.
The relief is optimized for standard size cards (250x250). Larger maps should also be allowed, but some terrain shapes may not be generated correctly if the map size is too small.
This mode is currently in beta testing, as the long-term game effects of terrain shapes have not yet been fully tested, and some details need to be clarified. If you have any problems or suggestions for improvement, please leave your comments.
