"Biotech Cloning" mod
About This Mod
Allows the use of Biotech growth pots for cloning, allowing for seamless reproduction from a single donor parent. Regardless of fertility and age, clones completely repeat the xenotype of the original specimen.
How to use:
Study the research project "Cloning".
Build a clone extractor (available in the Biotechnology Architect tab, requires 4 components, among others).
Put the colonist in the extractor.
Place the clone embryo in a vat to grow or implant in a live host.
Mutations:
Includes a mutation system (optional) that gives clones a random chance to receive genes at birth. Settings allow you to adjust the overall chance of mutation, which genes can mutate, and the likelihood of each gene appearing. By default, mutations are predominantly negative, but any gene, including a modified gene, can be added to the list.
Script:
Includes a new starter script based on the classic "Rich Explorer" from the vanilla version, but with some modifications. You start with the right technologies and materials to get started right away. However, don't forget to choose a pawn with the skill of building enough to build a car.
Compatibility:
Safe to add to existing saves.
Incompatible (at the moment) with humanoid alien races. Future support is planned.
Must be compatible with Enhanced Doubtful Ethics, despite different approaches to similar functions.
No other known incompatibilities were found, please report if found.
CE? I don't know, but I probably do. Must work. Try it and share the results.
Known Issues:
Humanoid Alien Races - Incompatibility. Mod makes changes to pawns, such as custom bodyTypes, etc., which will require many custom patches. Work on this will begin as soon as there is official support for Biotech.
Biotech DLC is required.
