"Biotech Cloning" Mod
About This Mod
Allows the use of biotech growth pots for asexual cloning, taking as a basis only one parent-donor. Fertility or age does not play a role - the entire xenotype is copied.
How to use:
1. Explore the new research project "Cloning".
2. Build a clone extractor (available on the "Biotechnology Architect" tab, requires 4 additional components among others).
3. Place the colonist in the extractor.
4. Place the resulting clone embryo in a vat for growing or implant it into a living individual.
Mutations:
A mutation system is included (optional): clones with a certain chance at birth may receive random genes. Settings allow you to adjust the overall chance of a mutation, as well as identify the genes that may be mutated, and the probability of receiving each gene. By default, negative mutations predominate, but you can theoretically add any gene to the list, including modified ones.
Script:
Added a new starter scenario based on the classic "Rich explorer" from the vanilla version, but with modifications. You start with the technology and resources you need to start cloning immediately. Don't forget to choose a pawn with sufficient construction skill to build the necessary equipment.
Compatibility:
* Safely add to existing saves.
* Not compatible (at the moment) with humanoid alien races. I hope to see compatibility soon.
* Must be compatible with Improved Xenophobia Ethics, despite differences in implementation.
* No other known incompatibilities were found. Please let me know if you find out.
* CE? I have no idea, but I'm probably. Try it and report the results.
Known Issues:
Humanoid Alien Races is simply not compatible. The mod changes pawns, adds custom body types, and so on, which requires many custom patches. I want to wait for official support of Biotech before I take it on. I plan to work on this in the future.
DLC Biotech is required.
Tested on game version: 1.5
