Soul Lantern Backpack Resistance

Only BepInEx is required to run this mode. Do not use the Partiality Lounger, otherwise it will break the mod (Partiality wrapper for BepInEx will suit).

If BepInEx is not installed:

1. Make sure you are on the mono branch of Outward (see above)
2. You can download BepInEx 5.1.0 here (or the next latest version). Be sure to download the 64-bit or Unix version if you are using Mac or Linux.
3. Place a zip file in the game's install folder, for example, Outward: .Outward\BepInEx.zip
4. Right-click the file and select Check Out Here to merge it with the folder structure.
5. It should create a folder and two files:  Outward\BepInEx\Outward\doorstop_config.iniOutward\winhttp.dll
6. NOTE: Make sure that it is not unpacked into the second subfolder, it should look like "Outward\BepInEx\core\" and you should see "Outward\winhttp.dll" and "Outward\doorstop_config.ini".
7. [Optional] Run the game once, and then close it to make sure it works.
8. If it runs successfully, it will create the Outward\BepInEx\LogOutput.log file
9. If you did not create a log file, see the Troubleshooting section below.

If/After BepInEx is installed:

1. Put "LanternOfSoulsMod.dll" in the folder or subfolder of the plugins folder.

2. Start the game!Outward\BepInEx\plugins\

Troubleshooting

1. (Steam / GoG users) Make sure your game is set up for the Mono branch! Sometimes your lounge can go back to the main branch.
2. Try restarting the game launcher (Steam / GoG / Epic) and trying again.
3. Do you have an error in the "BepInEx\LogOutput.log" file about "enabling .NET Harmony runtime patch"? If so, you should back up the Outward\SaveGames\ directory, delete the Outward folder, and perform a complete reinstallation of Outward.
4. Right-click Outward.exe and select Properties > Compatibility, and verify that the game is not running in Windows 8 compatibility mode. You can disable compatibility or use Windows 7 mode.
5. Some Windows systems can block DLL files because they come from another computer. To correct this, right-click the .dll file and choose Properties > Unlock (the button below). You should check this for the winhttp.dll file in the main Outward folder, as well as for the DLLs in the  Outward\BepInEx\core\ folder.
6. Make sure you have version 4.0+ of the .NET Framework installed.
7. Download here from Microsoft
8. You can back up the Outward\SaveGames folder and perform a complete reinstallation of Outward and BepInEx.
