Pre-rendered scenes and cinematics at 60 fps
About This Mod
Replaces prerendered 30 fps scenes with newly rendered 60 fps scenes.
Explanation -
Thanks to (FFXVIFix), the in-game frame rate limitation in cutscenes can now be removed. However, pre-rendered scenes and cinematographic videos were rendered at a rate of 30 frames per second. This mode will take all pre-rendered cinematic scenes that were rendered at 30 fps and replace them with scenes that will be re-rendered at 60 fps using A.I. interpolation. In my observation, 60 frames per second video is better and more convincing than real-time frame generation on native prerendered 30 frames per second frames.
Requirements -
FFXVIFix - it is still required and must be installed to remove the in-game 30 fps limit for all scenes/cinemas. However, it is recommended to switch [Cutscene Frame Generation] to false in the FFXVIFix.ini file to get the correct 60 fps effect.
Sample frames.
I gave examples of 60 fps in the Examples.zip file. It contains a couple of scenes (of the first two big battles pre-rendered) in both the original 30 fps and 60 fps Bink and MP4 format so you can evaluate the result yourself, rather than downloading the entire mod. Note that Bink files will most accurately represent colors as they appear in the game.
Installation -
Extract the "60 fps cutscenes.zip" file and drag the .pac files to the "FINAL FANTASY XVI\data" directory in the game. Be sure to make a backup of the original files that are replaced.
-Note: .diff and reloaded-II files have not been used because all content in each modified pac contains only cutscenes and clips that have been replaced for this mod. In addition, the .diff modification does not seem to work for kunstkamera.
