About This Mod
What is it?
In order to play Final Fantasy XVI, your CPU must support AVX2, unless this is done, the game will not boot.
This mod uses the Intels SDE tool to emulate a missing AVX2 instruction on older processors.
That's cool, right? Well... performance suffers, the initial shader cache will take a long time to create, and there will be many hitches, especially when opening a menu or inventory. It is recommended to use an overclocked i7 (2700k, 3770k) or xeon.
Installation:
1. Download and unpack this mod.
2. Move all files to the game folder next to ffxvi.exe. (or ffxvi-demo.exe)
3. Launch the game using the included FFXVI-SDE-Launcher file. (Steam must be running in the background)
Uninstall:
Delete the SDE, steam_appid.txt, and FFXVI-SDE-Launcher.bat folder.
