About This Mod

Since the release of the game, I am very concerned about the inability to easily turn over the found trash to waste. Despite all the dialog in the game about the absurdity of dragging random junk with them, one would think that someone from Bethesda guessed that some players would not want to carry with them twelve vases, a typewriter, an iron for clothes and so on. Yet the game doesn’t have built-in functionality to avoid being that guy.

So I decided to do something about it. This mod is the result.

Okay, but what's he really doing?

This mod adds a scavenger tool kit to the game - a handy little item with which you can spread the junk into pieces. Use it simply: lower the box to the ground, and then activate it. A menu will then appear with the following options:

  • Store Junk: Transfers most of the junk from your inventory to a drawer, then opens the drawer so you can see what was transferred and pick up what you don't want to throw away. Do not forget to pull out all the cargoes that have been transferred!
  • Write off the junk: Take away the junk that is in the box and then lift the box again. Everything that cannot be scrapped is also returned to your inventory.
  • Open Drawer: Opens the inventory of the box without transferring anything.
  • Lift: Raises the box without throwing away anything that may be in it. Everything in it will be transferred to your inventory.
  • Do nothing: do I need to explain this point?

The tool box itself can be manufactured both at the chemical and at the culinary stations in the category "utility". It requires only one steel to make, it weighs nothing and costs nothing. If you forget it somewhere in the game world, you can just make another one and throw it to the ground, but I do not advise leaving it anywhere for long, as I have not checked what happens when the cell in which it is located is reset.

Compatibility

This mod has to work with almost everything, as it does not make any changes to what is already in the game. He has no problem with mods that change the components that give unwanted items. The script will not recognize the newly added components, but it will not cause any problems - in the worst case, if the item does not break up into any of the components of the base game, the script will simply ignore it and add it back to the inventory without throwing it away.

Installation Notes

There are two versions of this mod, one in which scripts are packaged in the BA2 archive and the other in which they are stored as free files. You'll only need one of them. I recommend using BA2, but if you have problems with a broken mod, try the unzipped version, as some people have problems with scripts in the archives not working properly.

Uninstall

Why do you have to hurt me? :'(

Okay, but seriously, the uninstallation is pretty straightforward. If you have a box somewhere, I advise you to pick it up and make sure there is nothing left in its inventory. Otherwise, you will lose everything that could have been stored in it. After that, you can simply deactivate .esp and remove the fashion files from the Data folder (or uninstall through the mod manager you are using). Deleting a mod should not cause any problems in the game.
