Map Cape Kelvin v1.0.1

Welcome to Cape Kelvin, a heavily edited version of Archipelago Haven that can be seen on Twitch! This is the first map I've made.


I've been playing Cities Skylines since 2018 and have never made a card in CS1 or CS2. I made this map in developer mode using a map editor and several mods including Line Tool, Anarchy, Tree Control and Extended Road Upgrades.


Note: There are boot problems caused by Extended Road Upgrades. When using the retaining wall of this fashion "knot" has a dent. To fix this, open the map in a new game and secure the passing wall (which runs parallel to the two roads under the "mountain" in the interior). Then load the saved city, and there will be no wrong cut in the wall.


About the map This landscape is not based on any real region of the world. I like that the map has a seashore on both sides and mountains on the other two. It was the perfect start to what I was up to. I have created a hard land - cape - filling most of the sea between the islands, and placed several islands on either side of it! The result is a map of the desired size, allowing you to accommodate several small cities and one or two large. They are all located within natural boundaries created by mountains and sea. Forestry and agriculture are the main activities, and there are many mines at the foot of the mountains. There are also several important oil fields.


This map was created on my Twitch stream in February 2024 and became my first fashion build. It features agricultural areas, especially with irrigation canals. I built three bridges beforehand to make it easier to cross channels. There are a few water sponges here, so be careful if you're not used to dealing with water. At the foot of the "mountain" in the center of the map passes a beautiful road through pine and spruce forests. Just below the road there are double paths. The inner path (closest to the road) is not connected to the outer path and is only for the local route.

These are my favorite settings. I like the default grass, which is a little darker than the other options. The Chameleon House settings are best suited for sandy areas along the banks of rivers and cliffs on the banks. Feel free to experiment with other settings and share them on Twitch or Discord!


Installation.

- Extract the .cok and .cok.cid files to the AppData/LocalLow/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines II/Maps folder.

- If you do not already have a "maps" folder in this folder, create a Maps folder.

Plus water and sewage systems that are easy to run (or ignore!). . Natural resources: fertile land 175 km2, forest 764 kt, oil 72.1 kt, ore 53.5 kt.
