Difficulty Class Scale for Coatings, Arrows and Throwing Weapons
About This Mod
With this fashion, coverings, arrows and projectile weapons (grenades, barrels, fireworks, bottles of fat, ampoules with acid, holy water, etc.) that have saving throws will be scaled similar to most weapons actions such as laceration, penetrating shot, etc. The math is as follows: 8 + skill bonus + power or dexterity modifier (whichever is higher) + positive or negative bonus depending on the item you are using. The bonus is based on the differences between DC items in vanilla play, so rarer items usually have a higher DC than more common ones. The minimum DC of the items is also the same as the vanilla values, as it cannot be below the vanilla value, even if you are playing as a character with very low fighting abilities.
Example: The DC of a simple toxin in a vanilla game is 11. With this mod, a level 1 character with power 17 has the same base DC 11 (8+2+3-2=11), but at level 12 with power 20 it will scale to 15 (8+4+5-2=15). The purple worm toxin has a vanilla DC of 19, which is the highest in the game, and with this mod it can scale to 23 on the same 12th-level character. It's quite a lot, but in the end it has to be a very rare item. Maybe some items may become too reliable with this mod, while others will just become more viable, but it depends on your preferences. Maybe I'll do a rebalanced version of this at some point, if I want to.
The coating should work both when throwing and when laying on a weapon. DC for surfaces created by throwing coatings or other throwing objects must also be scaled.
I've also tried to make sure that any surfaces created by traps or spells are not affected by DC weapon scaling and should still use the appropriate vanilla values, but if you have any problems with this, know.
