About This Mod


You can spend your reaction on directing a target attack spell with the Spell Focus weapon. When you do this, you will deal additional damage as if you also attacked a target in melee with this weapon.


If you own two hands and only one of your weapons is a spell trick, this weapon will only be applied to that weapon. If both spells are focal spells, you will direct your spell through both, gaining the benefits of a full two-handed strike.


If you also have the highest skill, you can use the Spell Focus skill, which will allow you to use any weapon as a spell focus if you have War Magic or War Spellcaster.


For example, if you have a Strength of 10 and you have played Fire Arrow on a goblin while holding Quarterstaff with a, you will deal 1d10 fire damage, you may spend your reaction on dealing additional 1d8 damage + Baton Strength Modifier. On the other hand, if you have two Quarterstaffs, you have to do 2d6 (1d6 + 1d6).



Important Notes

  • This mod modifies existing standard weapons as well as some weapon modifications. Please post it after any mod that replaces or modifies a standard weapon (none of the weapons I've modified use the fields I used to make it work, and none of the mods I've seen so far use them either, and I've written a mod to add just these two fields with the required passive skills to an existing weapon so it can load after everything else).
  • I strongly recommend that you do not turn on the reaction automatically - it will hit all allies that are in the area of any of your damaging spells, unless you specifically rule them out when prompted.
  • Yes, it has nothing to do with how spell tricks work in any edition of D&D.
  • This will SIGNIFICANTLY increase your damage. I don't recommend you to use this mod unless you want a very simple campaign or you don't have installed mods that do things like heal enemies.
  • If you install an optional "make all weapons spell foci" file, please be aware that every enemy caster will also be able to use it.
  • If you're a modder and want to make a weapon out of your fashion compatible with this (i.e. make it a spell focus), just add these two lines to the weapon's entry block:
