About This Mod

Now compatible with Aetherpoint and the wonderful AV Item Shipment Framework mod from Volitio.

The tadpoles will sleep in the Item Shipment Framework mailbox, which is located in the camp chest.

If you don't use or can't use Script Extender, tadpoles will still appear in the chest.

The mod was renamed from Absolute Tadpole of Illithid Powers to Fake Tadpoles and received a new UUID.

The previous version and variants of this mode are no longer supported. Information on how to install them will be available below.

The stock file is no longer supported.

Since version 2.0 has a different UUID than version 1.X, anyone who wants to upgrade from 1.X to 2.0 will be able to install both mods. This means that updating this mod in the middle of the game is possible without fear. Just remember to download version 2.0 after version 1.X.

If you update this way, you'll have to eat a fake astral tadpole again to restore the passivation of Psionic Dominance.

Having both versions 1.X and 2.0 is not necessary when upgrading, but I would like to provide some kind of protection against crashes, because people have already had problems with updating this mode.

New main file: Fake Supreme Tadpole - gain the ability to illytide without having to be illytide.

New main file: Fake Tadpole Extras - makes the passivation of Awakened and Tadpole Elixir work with the abilities of fake tadpoles.

Tadpoles can now be consumed indefinitely.

Jaheira and Halsin can consume tadpoles. The mercenaries may be, but I didn't check.

The icons for fake tadpoles have been repainted.

Recolored icons for the abilities of fake tadpoles. The Fake Tadpole Extras file also applies repainting to the Awakened and Survival Instinct icons.

An alternative icon was added for Stage Fright, which was available in the game files.

All passivki fake tadpoles can now be switched. Since the mod cannot be uninstalled, disabling passives is the closest method to uninstalling.

To avoid cluttering your spell book, when you use the Supreme Tadpole file, all illithid abilities that have mind flayer variants will be automatically updated.

All but one of the fake tadpoles' abilities are exact copies of their real counterparts. The exception is Levitate, which has had its culdawn removed. This was done because Levitate rewrites Fly, which rewrites Jump. In turn mode, it was unpleasant to wait for it to last one turn, so I removed it.

Since the fake tadpoles' abilities are copies, this means that they do not replace or affect the real tadpoles' abilities.

Different animations were chosen for Tentacle Whip and Extract Brain, as their original animations are for mind spray. Tentacle Whip has an animation of Unarmed Strike, but the character with the melee weapon will attack with these weapons. Extract Brain presumably has an animation of Vampire Bite. I say "presumably" because it didn't look like a bite during testing.

The Fake Supreme Tadpole file can be used without the Fake Astral Tadpole file, but it will only produce Tentacle Whip, Extract Brain, and illithid forces that have mind flayer variants. However, if you update the game in the middle of the game, you will need a Fake Astral Tadpole file.

INSTALLATION:


I recommend using LaughingLeader's Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager to install this mod.

For manual installation, the .zip files contain info.json. (Version 2.0+)
