Face Ripper
About This Mod
Using the command line allows you to perform batch operations quickly.
Usage: FO4FaceRipper.exe <input-file> <input-ID> [<output-file> <output-id>]
for example: FO4FaceRipper.exe "My Preset.json" 0 "My Mod.esp" 225b67
for example: FO4FaceRipper.exe "My Old Save.fos" 7 "My New Preset.json" 0
(You must use 0 as the identifier for .json presets.)
Warning: Unlike the form interface, command line operations will directly modify the output file (save backups).
Now it is supported to read and write LooksMenu presets!
This program allows you to transfer your character's face to a new game. It can take the face you've uploaded and place it on a high-level character. She can take your character's face and put it on Piper. She can do an amazing number of things related to the transfer of the face to another place. Try it, tear your face off today!
Save-to-Save
How to transfer a character's face* from one save to another:
1. Download and open this utility, it can be run from anywhere.
2. Find the original save - save with the person you want to use.
3. Find the target save - save with progress, statistics, etc. that you want to use.
4. Make sure that Player 7 is selected for both source and target save.
5. Click Transfer Face, and a new merged save is created.
* You can also extract faces from NPC, which you edited with LooksMenu!
Save Plugin
You can also transfer from plugins you have downloaded, or even from Fallout4.esm.
Skin color and makeup
If skin color and makeup are not displayed correctly in the game:
1. Enter the LooksMenu menu (console: slm 14).
2. Move the cursor over the neck and enter the skin color menu.
3. Do not accept the change, just move the choice to another color.
4. The face should immediately update with the correct skin color and makeup.
5. Step back, exit the Appearance menu and save the game.

How to create a new face for NPC:
1. PREPARE PLUGIN
a. Open FO4Edit, find the NPC record/form you would like to edit.
b. Copy this entry as an override to a new plugin, name it as you like.
c. Close FO4Edit by saving the new plugin.
2. PREPARATION FOR FACE RETENTION
a. Open a game and download a save or start a new game.
b. Edit the face while creating the character or use the 'slm 14' command in the console.
c. Save the game.
d. Find the save file on your PC and rename it to something useful.
3. COPY
a. Open Face Ripper.
b. Find the original save from section 2.
c. Select Player 7 from the top drop-down list.
d. Find the target plugin from section 1.
e. Select ID NPC from Section 1 in the drop-down list below.
f. Click "Upload face" and "OK" in any message box.
g. Please enable a new plugin to which ID NPC will be added.
h. Download the game and check to see if the process worked.
These are the basics. You can also use facial presets (which are regular NPC_ entries) to place an existing face in the LooksMenu menu.
Reset Button
The "Reset Face" button will delete the face data of the specified NPC* in your save file (i.e. will clear the changes made in LooksMenu). This will allow the plugins to redefine the face again or restore the vanilla. This is only necessary if you have used the LooksMenu menu for NPC.
* Curie can't be reset! I recommend NEVER using LooksMenu on Curie.
Known Issues
- You cannot renumber record IDs when transferring to the plugin. You will need to use FO4Edit to properly add new wizards to the plugin with the original entries.
- ESL is not fully supported. Things like new hairstyles added to ESL probably won't be transferred correctly.
- Many NPCs have a property (FMIN Facial Morph Intensity) that makes them incompatible with each other or with the player, causing some distortion when ripping (Piper is one of these NPCs). I don't know how to fix it.
