About This Mod
Hello everyone! It is a small Orthodox church, modeled after the Pokrovskaya Old Believer Church in Borisov, Belarus. It was a very beautiful church and I really wanted to build it. It fits perfectly into the countryside. It can accommodate 60 people.
Pokrovskaya Old Believer Church or the Prayer House of the Borisov Old Believer Community in Pomolsky Accord is an old wooden church built in the XVIII century.
The Old Believers (Bespopovtsy) were Orthodox and called schismatics, as they did not support Nikon's reforms. According to the Old Believer Rite, they recognized no authority other than God.
The wealth of the Old Believers always provoked envy. They were serious, hard-working people who were able to earn and accumulate huge wealth through their own labor. In addition, they formed a closed community, always helping each other. Church services are not conducted in the same way as in the regular Orthodox Church. Knowledge, as in the past, is handed down by word of mouth, and the head of the community is chosen from among the wisest, most pious, and most respected.
