About This Mod

I hated getting ridiculously little experience/gold for my honest work at Witcher just because I was a bit above the level. I believe it destroys immersion when someone gives you 20 CZK for killing a monster or you get 5 experience for solving the mystery of killing.

Description

Quests will always earn you at least a certain amount of experience and/or gold. The default is 50 experience/gold. You can set each value separately using the in-game menu "Options->Mods->Customize Rewards" from 0 (meaning vanilla behavior) to 1000.

Any reward above the set values is not affected, so you will still receive the right amount of expa/gold, completing quests close to your level. When you should not receive gold as a reward, you will NOT receive any gold (as it should). It's the same with experience.

Examples with values 50 exp and 50 gold:

Example 1: Performing a low level quest should give you 1 exp and 20 gold. You get 50 exp and 50 gold.

Example 2: Performing another low-level quest should give you 20 exp and 0 gold. You get 50 exp and 0 gold.

Example 3: Complete the quest at the same level as you should give you 200 exp and 100 gold. You get 200 exp and 100 gold.

Note 1: Mod does not change any multipliers.

Note 2: Mod doesn't change Gwent's non-quest games, so you can use other mods that change rewards for them.

Installation

1. Use Vortex or manually unzip the 'modMinimumRewards' folder to '[PathToWitcher3]\Mods'.

2. [OPTION] Run Script Merger to resolve conflicts with other installed mods.

3. Copy the "modMinimumRewards\bin" folder to "[PathToWitcher3]\" (to see the in-game mods menu)

4. Add the line "modMinimumRewards.xml;" (no quotation marks, semicolons) to the files "dx11filelist.txt" or/and "dx12filelist.txt" (depending on which version of DX you have installed, you can add it to both if you want) in "[PathToWitcher3]\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\"

5. All done! Start the game and set the desired values in "Options->Mods->Customize Rewards"

Note: Step 4 should be done every time a new patch is released to the game (because the files "dx11filelist.txt" and "dx12filelist.txt" will be overwritten by it).

Remove

1. Remove "[PathToWitcher3]\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modMinimumRewards.xml".

2. Delete the [PathToWitcher3]\Mods\modMinimumRewards folder. Run the Merge Scripts program to discard the merged changes
