About This Mod

Maud automatically adjusts items to the player's level. The damage of the sword will increase, as will the defense of the armor, as if they were entirely new. Every time you raise your level, your equipment will be improved. When you buy a new weapon from a dealer, it will scale according to the player's level. The mod also lowers the level of some items that require a higher level.




Usage


The mod can be configured in the game menu: Options -> Mods -> Item level scaling.


You can choose which items you want to scale. Armor, swords, or both. You can also limit the scaling:

Equipped items - as said.

Custom - applies only to weapons that have a "scalable" tag. Designed for use with my gun mods.

Witcher gear - scales only items classified as witcher gear. 

All items - mostly all items in your inventory.


If you have a favorite weapon and want it to be the only scalable item, you can do so by tagging it "scalable". You can use the Next Gen item tag editor. Then go to the game settings and limit the zoom to "Custom".


After downloading the save items will be updated instantly. However, if you set the scaling to All Items, each new item added to your inventory will be updated immediately.




Installation


Step 1: Unpack the mod and copy "bin" and "mods" to the main game directory: "<game_path>\The Witcher 3\".


You should get:

"<game_path>\The Witcher 3\mods\modGearLevelScaling"

"<game_path>\The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modGearLevelScaling.xml"


Step 2: Go to "<game_path>\The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\" and open "dx12filelist.txt" or "dx11filelist.txt" (depends on your configuration). Then add a new string "modGearLevelScaling.xml;" to the end of the file.


Step 3: If you have compatibility issues, use Script Merger.
