What is Nautilus?

Nautilus is the successor to SMLHelper, with a much cleaner code base, a more user-friendly workflow for modders, and significantly improved maintainability. In addition to all the features previously provided by SMLHelper, several new features have been added, existing features have been improved, documentation has been completely redesigned, and both surface and internal systems have been rewritten, resulting in a significant reduction of errors.

Why did you stop releasing SMLHelper?

SMLHelper was discontinued after the release of QModManager because we felt we had a great opportunity to create a sequel to the project that was fully developed, redesigned and upgraded for BepInEx.

After the Living Large upgrade, most mods were broken and needed to be fixed, but all authors had to wait for QModManager to be fixed before any mods could be updated. So in this update we took the opportunity to finally retire QMM, remove the intermediate stage in the mod creation process, spare the authors the need to wait for the QMM update before updating their mods when updating the game and open the door to more mod creators through BepInEx We decided to open the door for diversity.

SMLHelper 2.15.0.1 and Nautilus are no longer compatible since version 1.0.0.0-pre.22. Modders are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Nautilus as SMLHelper is no longer being developed and will not be supported.
