About This Mod

This mode is introduced by the pelican, a small transport aircraft used in HELLDIVERS.


The Pelican is a single-stage, angled launch vehicle (SSTO) with an automatic medium-caliber gun (exact penetration not specified) mounted under the cockpit. Pelicans are limited in vertical takeoff and landing only by the construction of the chassis. Each shuttle can carry up to four passengers simultaneously with the internal compartment for crew; in addition, heavy cargo (such as fuel tanks and the Patriot exoskeleton) are placed at the bottom of the shuttle for transportation.


Although Pelican's shuttle engines appear to be conventional jet engines, they appear to operate in both atmosphere and vacuum, suggesting that it is probably an advanced rocket engine, a combined cycle (combining open and closed cycle modes), or a nuclear thermal engine. Whatever type of engine it is, it must be extremely efficient; the design of the shuttles involves an extremely small amount of fuel (at least significantly less than would have been expected from a single-stage orbiter).
