Adapted to version 1.4, and made many other changes. The mod itself is taken from github developer.
Recommendations and disclaimers:
SOS2EXPERIMENTAL(SOS2EXP) is a supported version of Save Our Ship2 for RimWorld 1.4. This includes bug fixes, performance optimization, engine changes, and some new features that may require additional testing. An updated version of Creation kit is also available. Use only with SOS2EXP.
This version is officially approved, but has not been created by RHX media and you should use it at your own risk. IT IS BACK-COMPATIBLE WITH THE STEAM VERSION, BUT THE STEAM VERSION ADDS FEATURES THAT ARE NOT ACCEPTED, AND THERE ARE PROBLEMS TRYING TO UPGRADE FROM SOS2EXP TO STEAM. MOST OF THESE ISSUES CAN BE SOLVED USING DEVELOPMENT MODE OR MINOR CHANGES WITH SAVE, BUT SUPPORT IS NOT AVAILABLE.

The new version is compatible with the previous version, but may require maintenance of the ship, such as replacing a large bridge on the console, adding coolant tanks to increase capacity or freeing up space for a larger crew. However, if you plan to start with a ship, you can customize your first scenario and choose from a variety of rebuilding options. It is highly recommended that you save it before switching to this out-of-band version. However, if you want to be more secure, land the spacecraft on Earth and make sure that the space map is closed.
Reclaimed ships: All ships in vogue have been redesigned and built from scratch using new systems and mechanisms, and new ships have been added to make the game more interesting and diverse.
Drawings of ships: sold from arms dealers. With these items you can build a whole ship that can be reused and customized to your liking. To do this, you will need the necessary technology and resources (described in each drawing).
Ground defense: While your ship lands, all the small ship's guns can now fire at enemy fighters. Destroy enemy hordes by pressing a button until the enemy is too close or the weapon is reloaded.
New landing and protection system (can be disabled in settings): Instead of landing in outer space, when the target ship has an engine running on board the cap, the enemy will try to destroy the door and kill your crew. You can avoid this fate by using PD to shoot down enemy capsules in flight, but be careful - enemy ships will do the same to you.
Redesigned heating system: Simplified, less effort and much higher performance. The radiators were dismantled and they began to radiate heat away from the roof, even if shielded. Added a coolant tank, which has a much greater thermal capacity, but is not able to take it into space.
New Endings and Planetary Travel System: After completing the Loyalty Ending, you get an Empire Destroyer instead of completing the game. Flying to another planet will now complete the game, but save your ship and everything on it in a file that you can download by editing the original script, adding "Load ship", and selecting the saved ship. Visiting the old planet is no longer possible. The launch script will also be supplemented with similar code to ensure better compatibility and ease of maintenance/updates in the future.
Hologram processing: New genetic systems and other changes in biotechnology caused a number of problems with holograms, so they were processed in the form of a gel cluster resembling a living creature. Random Fleet System: Fight a randomly generated fleet of ships of different configurations and sizes.
Random Wreck System: Generates wrecks in a database that you can explore and retrieve. Other factions and ships may also attempt to do the same.
Recycled Recycling System: The days when you could get more assets at the touch of a button are over. Use the escape bay to drag a broken ship onto the map, repair it, dismantle it to get resources, or burn it in the atmosphere. In large teams will be useful other fashions and new fur, as well as biotechnology.
Bridge system redesign: The old big bridge is obsolete, and 2 new consoles have replaced it and expanded functionality. Some features, such as scanning, have been moved to advanced sensors and new scientific consoles, but tactical options allow you to select different types of weapons on board if they are connected through the ship's heat network.
Docking station: Temporarily connect the vessel at a distance of up to 3 cells using an extension cord with tubes for air, energy, heat and chemical fuel (if using Leymefeller).
Performance optimization: From faster spacewalk verification to a fully redesigned spacecraft combat system, there are many ways to improve the performance of this fashion.
New user interface and settings menu: The Battle of the Ships user interface has been moved to the bottom of the Pawns panel. It now displays all ships and you can go to the SOS2 settings menu. Sos2 has been reset to its default settings because it uses its own RW modification tool. Hugslib has been removed as a required mod.

Extensibility: Not ideal, but now it's easier to change dockyard type or add EVA functionality to other changes. Naval systems have also been added, so mods can add factions with their pawns, ships, and colors.
