About This Mod

"Rational Romance" revolutionizes RimWorld's romance system, correcting some of its flaws and expanding its functionality.


The following new features have been added:


Orientation. Each pawn is now given a sign indicating its sexual orientation: asexuality, bisexuality, or heterosexuality.

Two new character traits: "Faithful" and "Robber".

New actions: added long walks as a dating option for couples, promoting communication and improving relationships. Random connections are also added as entertainment for single pawns.

Improved romantic behavior in general. For example, pawns will no longer initiate romantic acts if recently rejected.

Cultural Aspects. There is now a cultural component: female pawns from tribal or imperial backgrounds are more active (more likely to initiate romantic encounters or propose marriage).

Added ​support ​ polyamory. Polyamorous pawns prefer multi-partner relationships to simple monogamous relationships.

Female pawns will now be as likely as male pawns to initiate romantic courtship or propose marriage, taking into account the cultural differences mentioned above.

This mode is NOT compatible with "Psychology".


The mode requires: Harmony.
