About This Mod

This mod gives you some control over finding parts of the weapon without going far beyond the vanilla boundaries. The first time I melted items in Bannerlord, I somehow thought I could learn parts from the items I melted. Imagine my disappointment when I realized it was completely accidental. Maud added several controls to the standard receipt of new parts: - By melting the weapon, you can learn the technology behind it. By melting weapons, you can learn the technology behind them. There is a chance to discover an unknown part used in the design of the remelted weapons. XP obtained by remelting is quite low, so reverse engineering the technology would be very... That would be unreliable. -Every time you get XP, you have a chance to discover a new item from the category of weapons you have created or melted, instead of getting a completely random item. Of course, if you find all the items in this category, the mechanics will return to basic operation. The chance of finding a new part in the selected category increases as the craft skill increases. The probability begins to increase from 0% at 50, to 50% at 200, and to 100% at 350 - a change that should make it harder for low-skilled forgers to obtain high-level parts. It used to be 1/(level*level). It was previously 1/(tier*tier). It is now a combination of forging skills versus the complexity of parts and forging skills versus the complexity of items. In general, this should make it easier to obtain random details for simple patterns like axes even with low skill (but in practice this is not the case because there are too many details for swords). A few small facts about craftsmanship (in vanilla): - There is a hidden XP strip until you get the next item, and this strip is filled with XP derived from the craft (before multiplying by modifiers). So you can pick up the time for crafting to almost fill a strip of valuable but cheap items, and then try to get a new item from a hard-to-reach category. Every time a new item is discovered, it takes more XP to unlock the next one. In the past, it was entirely down to luck. - Now earned XP is completely dependent on the value of the extracted/melted item. So a good way to get XP is to create objects with lots of composites and then melt them. The cost calculation is pretty broken, and you can do pretty expensive things out of sticks and dirt, so feel free to experiment with different combinations. Of course it's a game from EA, so all of the above can be changed. To install: unzip the file into the modules folder. Activate: Made for 1.3, works with 1.4b, but reportedly not with 1.2.
