About This Mod

Japanese Translation Files for De Re Militari/Strategic Theory Japanese Translation Files for De Re Militari (hereinafter DRM). The supported versions are listed on the download page. The soldier tree in the picture in the link is only a part of DRM files because it has become too complicated. In M&B2, low-level soldiers are little more than a stepping stone for high-level armored soldiers, and even if you are confident of defeat at the end of a battle, you cannot retreat and allow a bunch of new soldiers without good equipment to be killed by #cataphracts. They are sent to #cataphracts for slaughter. The tree of ordinary and noble soldiers is also not very different, and in the end it comes down to how to get the highest level soldier. To get rid of this routine, this mod makes a significant change to the soldiers tree and tries to separate the roles of elite soldiers, conscripts and irregulars, creating a realistic medieval-style mixed army on the battlefield. As explained on the author's page, here is a summary of the author's frustrations and motivations for creating fashion. While in Vanilla there were only two types of troops for each army - regular and noble, as well as a few smaller troops and mercenaries, in DRM the force tree expanded horizontally, becoming smaller and more diverse. Roughly speaking, each force tree is divided into the following roles: basic infantry, basic cavalry, elite infantry, elite cavalry, lightly armed and cheap irregulars (auxiliary troops, mercenaries, short-lived slaves, conscripts), with a maximum of three levels of upgrade. Some elite units, in particular, are not improving. On the other hand, there are paths to other trees, which complicates the situation. The author's own commentary on these cultural backgrounds was published as an additional setting, but it is too long to translate. Here's a brief summary. * There are a number of soldiers, partly generated by the military systems of other powers, for example, the cousins introduced cataphracts * The Calradian Empire has long dominated with a full tree of regular soldiers, and also introduced Auxilia, irregular soldiers * There are three factions in the empire. On the border between Cuseit and Stalgia live the Vaegir, who are excellent at owling (as in the previous Warband game). They multiply the powers of Stalgia and Cuseita* Vrandia, founded as a result of the capture of the Empire, inherited many of its traditions. Mercenaries of Wrandia, brandycons, imitate the imperial military system * In the south of Wrandia, it is possible to hire crossbowmen-rhodecks (also appeared in the previous game) * It is believed that each type of soldier has the following roles (this means Medieval II: Total War?). * Spearmen, the most common and numerous backbone of the army * Spearmen, more specialized in field melee, than pikemen * Diffusers, fragile but effective if attacked at the right time * Heavy infantry, dominant in close combat thanks to a dense formation in antique style * Stormtroopers specializing in breaking infantry ranks * Archers and crossbowmen. Crossbow specializes in long-range attacks with bow and crossbow * Light Cavalry does not have heavy armor and high firepower, but has a variety of uses * Horse Scatters play an intermediate role between light cavalry and archers * Bow Cavalry, a little fragile due to the lack of horseback armor, but possessing firepower and mobility * Assault Cavalry, specializing in lance attacks * Cataphract, heavily armored and having the most destructive power. Cataphracts with heavy armor and the most destructive force * Royal Guards, better equipped than ordinary infantry. How to install If you are using Mod Manager, you can install both mod and this file in the usual way. You will also need to install Realistic Battle Mod and ATC for the mod to work. Additionally, I recommend using Correct Localisation JP to avoid distorting characters. The manual installation procedure is described below. 1. install DRM itself, without forgetting about the two dependent modes, RBM and ATC. Better Pikes works without them, but the author recommends. 2. Download this Japanese file and copy it to the Modules folder of the M&B2 installation folder with the same name. [...] [...] [...]
