About This Mod
Project Red Mod is an open-source rewritten version of Eloraam's popular RedPower 1.4 fashion, which was discontinued by Minecraft. It copies most of the features of the original RedPower 2 fashion, but introduces some improvements and new additions. This mod does not borrow code from RedPower 2, but rebuilds from scratch. Mod introduces a number of improvements to the Redstone vanilla controls, allowing cables to be routed to and from either side of the unit. It also provides a large set of logical gates capable of performing complex logical operations based on Redstone signals. Of course, mod is not deprived of various functions of creating machines and worlds.
The original RedPower 2 mod pioneered the use of microblocks and was later revived in a different Forge Microblocks fashion; instead of creating a new implementation of microblocks, the Project Red mod is based on API Forge Microblocks and is fully compatible with it. This allows players to properly hide cables and other objects in the structure of the building.
Forge Relocation is a separate mod developed for working with ProjectRed, but it can be used independently. It adds the ability to move blocks from one place to another. Its universal API can be used by all modders to easily add support for their blocks. The FMP plugin is provided as an example for other modders so that they can base their own plugins.
Alongside Forge Relocation, Project Red also implemented the popular RedPower 2 fashion framing system. Frames were typically used to build large mining platforms using IndustrialCraft2 Mining Well, which moved around the map and cut large potions into bedrock.
