About This Mod

API Curios (1.20.4) is a flexible and extensible accessory/equipment API for users and developers. Its goal is to provide developers with the ability to add accessory/equipment slots in a convenient and compatible way and allow users to customize these slots to their liking. By default, Curios does not add any content other than the inventory GUI. There are no slots and only two items. The latter is available only from the Creative menu and serves as a basic reference for developers to use when creating their own integrations.

Features.

Inventory slots are expanded using the central library. Identity registration simplifies the creation and management of new hardware slots. Identical identifiers are integrated to avoid duplication of function and ensure maximum compatibility of potential elements.

Slots are created only on demand. Slots are not enabled by default, and all slots are created on demand only. This reduces the number of times there are no eligible items in a slot, but there are one or more additional slots available.

Slots can be fully configured and managed. Slots can have their own backgrounds, different sizes, and can even be disabled or hidden by default. But how a player can access disabled slots - through the API developers get access to features that enable/disable the player's slots or add/remove a certain number of slots of a certain type.

Flexible object-curio relationships using vanilla label system. Potential curions are selected using a vanilla tag system. This means that classifying items by curio type is simple: create a .json file in the data/curios/tags folder. Objects can be classified as curious types if they are marked in the corresponding files, and these settings can even be completely overridden.

Full integration with other inventory mechanics: Healing and Curses work with all items that have curio slots. In addition, developers can take advantage of a number of additional features to make it easier to integrate current items and tools into the Curio system.

Accessibility via a single graphical interface Curios has its own graphical interface available from the inventory, which displays all the slots available to the player. This allows players to see all of the extended equipment slots in one place without having to refer to the inventory's graphical interface. However, developers can create their own GUI for mode-specific slots if desired; the default GUI shortcut is 'g'.
