About This Mod
Red Hungary depicts the world of the successful Hungarian communist revolution of 1919.
History.
The Hungarian Soviet Republic was a communist state formed after the dissolution of Austria-Hungary as a result of World War I. By this point, Romania, Serbia (which was soon to become Yugoslavia), and Czechoslovakia had invaded the historic kingdom, and the Soviet Republic had tried to fight them, but eventually disintegrated after making dubious decisions. During this period, the northern campaign against Czechoslovakia was more successful, and the counteroffensive against Romania allowed the return of a large part of the Hungarian plains. Separate peace treaties were signed with Yugoslavia and later with Romania and the Czech Republic. By the time the formal treaties were signed, Yugoslavia was able to maintain its dominant territory and political style. (For more information, see the "Game Events" section.)
